This work was created by the artist, to help showcase the uses of ready made and hand made tools. This is the first of multiple layers that are installed directly into the ceramic mold by pushing, shaping, forming, tamping, hammering into place, small glass shards held together with a binding agent, gum Arabic. This constructive method allows the maker options of thickness, edge forms or edge types, even additional textural areas can be applied and built onto a specific section of the work (flange, center piece, ect.) The direct fire installation and firing can be completed in three days.
