Any tier list you find online will list the Best In Slot (or BIS) items for the main units on the board. While these are a great guideline when playing a comp for the first time, most players rely on these recommendations too much and greeding too much for the true best items on a single unit can often leave cause their board to be much weaker overall!
Frontline items should not be neglected, and finding the right balance between your front and backline itemization is part of ITEM ECONOMY! Your goal is to make item slams that make your BOARD stronger, not just a single unit. Sometimes, these are the same - but not always!
In this lesson, I go over some basic strategies you can keep in mind to improve your item economy. While components drops have an RNG element to them, the best players know how to hedge against bad component drops and take the right components off carousel.
