This 8-mile countryside walk across the Chiltern Hills offers a journey through rolling landscapes, ancient woodlands, and sweeping views of the Buckinghamshire countryside.
Starting in Wendover town centre, the route quickly ascends into the heart of the Chilterns, where well-trodden trails wind through beech forests and chalky ridges. As you follow the path, panoramic vistas unfold, revealing patchwork fields and secluded valleys that embody the region’s tranquil charm.
The walk passes through quiet villages and hidden pathways, occasionally crossing old drovers’ routes and remnants of centuries-old earthworks. With the ever-changing scenery providing a blend of shaded woodland and open hilltops, each step brings a new perspective on this historic landscape.
Nearing Chesham, the trail gently descends, leading toward the town’s welcoming streets and its convenient Tube station, marking the perfect conclusion to a walk rich in natural beauty, history, and rural serenity.
