We discuss issues of notation and terminology for ray rational numbers, which are an arithmetical structure supporting directed projective geometry. (See the text Oriented Projective Geometry: A Framework for Geometric Computations by Jorge Stolfi (Academic Press, 1991).
We also explain the geometric motivation behind ray rational arithmetic coming from Rational Trigonometry and a need for a directed version of the turn between two planar vectors.
