Benedictine avenged an early-season loss by forcing six turnovers and dominating Greater Atlanta Christian 45-21 in the 2-A state finals. Cadets QB Stevie Powers threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns, including a 29-yard pass to Brad Stewart and a 58-yard strike to John Kennedy. Joseph Holquin added a 74-yard fumble return for a touchdown. This victory marked Benedictine’s first state title in over a century of football. Tennessee commit Micah Abernethy rushed for 193 yards and two touchdowns for GAC.
