On December 2, the NYU Human Capital Management Department hosted the final Rethinking Work Series webinar of 2025 with @ Ben Zweig, Founder & CEO of Revelio Labs and author of the book "Job Architecture: Building a Language for Workforce Intelligence."
In conversation with Dr. Anna Tavis, Chair and Clinical Professor, of the HCM Dept. Ben explored how organizations can bring the same rigor to labor that financial markets bring to capital—and why better job architecture is key to the future of work.
🔍 A few key themes from the discussion:
Labor accounts for roughly two-thirds of economic output, yet we still lack the equivalent of “accounting standards” for employment data.
Job architecture can serve as a shared language that links roles, skills, and labor market data, enabling smarter decisions about hiring, mobility, and workforce planning.
Advances in large language models and workforce data now make it possible to systematically categorize jobs and skills, giving HR and people analytics teams new tools to design fairer, more efficient talent systems.
