The mighty Challenger was officially retired this year from the roster. It was last under steam in 2010 I was fortunate to have had the opportunity on her last day under steam, to pace the mighty beast for a few miles on her final westbound highball out of Sidney, NE. Ride along side of the UP 3985 on a great day for mainline steam along the Lincoln Highway. From way back on October 14, 2010 chasing the Challenger charging out of Sidney to Cheyenne, WY for the very last time. Thanks to the UP Steam team for running the Challenger for as long as they did.
