When Paramount contracted Roman Polanski to write and direct Rosemary's Baby, he and Sharon needed to find a home in Los Angeles. Through a friend, Sharon found a Norman-style mansion (1038 Palisades Beach Road) overlooking Santa Monica Beach. The house which was a short walk from the Santa Monica pier had been built in the 1920's by architect Paul Crawley for the actress Norma Talmadege. And its previous tenants included, Cary Grant and Randolph Scott, Barbara Hutton, Irving Berlin, Howard Hughes, as well as Princess Grace of Monaco.
