Step by step procedure and tutorial in making Pork Asado Buns using home made bread improver that made the bread soft for days and fluffy. It's a delicious bread with pork stew fillings like a siopao.

Pork Asado Buns

Roux or Bread Improver:
• 1/2 cup (125g) fresh milk or evap milk, hot
• 1/2 cup (60g) bread flour taken from the 500g for the dough

Dough Ingredients :
• 1/2 cup (125g) of fresh milk or evaporated milk
• 2 1/4 tsp (7g) of instant active yeast
• 1/2 cup (110g) light brown sugar
• 1 large egg, room temperature
• 1/2 cup (110g) vegetable oil or canola oil
• 500g (3 3/4 cups to 4 cups) Bread flour or all purpose flour
• 1 tsp (5g) iodized salt
• 1 tbsp vanilla

Asado Fillings:
500g pork, cut in small cubes
1/2 cup oyster sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 large onion, minced
5 PCs Laurel leaves
2 PCs star anise
Ground black pepper
1 1/4 cups of water or as needed
Optional: 1 tsp sesame oil

Eggwash:
1 egg
1 tbsp fresh milk or evap milk

Toppings:
Sesame seeds

• Preheat oven at 180⁰C for 10 to 15 minutes. Then bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
• Turn the pan around halfway through the baking at around 18 mins if using conventional oven without fan for even cooking and color

Baking Pan:
2 Cupcake pans or baking sheet
