With the rise in animal product consumption and industrial farming in the Global South, it's crucial to boost awareness and advocacy in these regions as well.
This panel explores the challenges of working in the most neglected regions, potential solutions, lessons from global counterparts, and immediate and long-term strategies to drive positive change for farm animals. The discussion aims to highlight opportunities and hurdles in these regions, considering cultural traditions, the pressures of a growing population, and the role of philanthropies and Global North organizations in accelerating expansion efforts.
For this panel, we have Shweta Sood (Communications at MFA) as our host, and Seb Alex (Middle East Vegan Society), Karthik Pulugurtha (Fish Welfare Initiative), Lucia Gomes Pereira (Sinergia Animal) and Aliya Wedelich (ÖmirFest) will share their experiences on this topic.
