先斗町通（ぽんとちょうどおり）
先斗町通は京都市の中京区にある南北の通り。
通り名の由来は、鴨川と木屋町通の間にある花街及び歓楽街の先斗町を通る道からとなる。
先斗町という街の名前の由来については動画内で説明する。
先斗町は江戸時代に中洲を埋め立てて誕生した歴史ある花街で
町家や料亭が立ち並び、舞妓・芸妓が行き交う風情ある景観が魅力。
春には「鴨川をどり」、夏には鴨川沿いに納涼床が設けられ、食事をしながら川風を楽しめる。
伝統文化と現代の飲食店が融合し、昼夜問わず多くの観光客が訪れる京都の人気スポットとなっている。

Pontocho-dori
Pontocho-dori is a north-south street in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City.
The street's name comes from the fact that it passes through Pontocho,
a red-light district and entertainment district between the Kamo River and Kiyamachi-dori.
The origin of the name Pontocho is explained in the video.
Pontocho is a historic red-light district that was created during the Edo period by reclaiming land in the Nakasu area.
It is lined with townhouses and restaurants, and has a charming landscape with maiko and geisha coming and going.
In the spring, the Kamogawa Odori dance is held, and in the summer,
summerside terraces are set up along the Kamo River, where you can enjoy the river breeze while dining.
Traditional culture and modern restaurants blend together to make this a popular spot in Kyoto that attracts many
tourists both day and night.
