This video is a recap of the Roubo Vise mechanism modification. I show drawings that explain better why this new system works so well.
ROUBO VISE DETAILS: An important feature of the Roubo Vise is the beam system that keeps the vise parallel. This keeps it from binding when you are adjusting the vise. Most Roubo Vises have a pin and lock beam system. That’s what I originally had on my work station but I decided to change to a threaded screw with a star wheel nut. This makes it easy to adjust with your foot, have continuous fine adjustments, and not bend over.
