ARSHAM AUTO MOTIVE | Daniel Arsham's exhibit tour at the Petersen Automotive Museum

The automotive and art worlds converge at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the new ARSHAM AUTO MOTIVE exhibit, by the renowned interdisciplinary artist Daniel Arsham.

Daniel takes us for a tour around his unique creations: an incredible collection of the signature eroded vehicle sculptures in full, 1/2 and 1/4 scales, as well as posters from the movies which inspired his car fascination from childhood, leading us into his very own automotive time capsule.

A tasteful mix between the love for iconic vehicles, pop culture and his passion for archeology is incorporated in each of his sculpture, together with the use of materials such as selenite, quartz, amethyst, pyrite and volcanic ash. The duality between the decaying look of the eroded sculptures, is in contrast with the growth of shiny crystals from within them, reflects the artist's view of evolution: elements falling apart to leave room for new developments and future completion.

The Eroded 1968 Ford Mustang GT Fastback, a drivable 1955 Porsche 356 Speedster Bonsai, a 1961 Ferrari GT from Ferris Bueller's day off, a Blue Calcite Porsche 911, a bronze oxidized DMC Delorean and a quartz and calcite Porsche 930 are all - amongst other sculptures by Daniel Arsham - on display at the Petersen Museum.
