How To Ranch Blum Lumbs With Mimikas In ONI: Spaced Out! Sandbox Showcase #37.5

Welcome to Sandbox Showcase! In this series, I talk about various problems in Oxygen Not Included and how I've solved them with my own designs in previous streamed and non-streamed runs, by building them in Sandbox mode.

In this video, we update the previous Lumb ranching design (   • How To Ranch Lumbs With Automation In ONI:...  ) to account for the November QoL Update changes! Specifically, we have a look at the Blum Lumbs, which produce Algae instead of Peat, and we look at how to incorporate Mimikas into our critter-dropper ranch design so that we can pollinate our Ovagro Vines and get even more efficiency.

Blum Lumbs are a highly critter-and-resource-efficient source of food via Tough Meat for Tender Brisket production, provided you can feed them typical Water-fed plants/foods. Additionally, they produce a load of Algae as a waste product, which is extremely useful as a convenient Oxygen source. Blum Lumbs can also stomp the ground to automatically harvest plants without requiring duplicants, potentially saving a lot of labour for large systems. We can also feed some of our excess Mimikas to Lura Plants for a bit of extra Plastic production! Overall, Blum Lumbs provide some interesting new options for initial base development and can adapt to non-Relica asteroids quite easily thanks to their flexible diet.
