The ABS brake system has been broken for years, on my old E28.
In this video, I install new china Sensors, that cost 10% of original BMW spare parts.
On a rusty old car it's really difficult to get the sensors to the correct position, and it's really sensitive, I check this here with an Oscilloscope.
The front Sensors seem to give slightly higher voltage than the rear.
All measurements are taken, with the connector disconnected from the ECU.
Seems that 100Hz and 750mV works for the front sensors.
And that the rear sensors only deliver about 120mV at 100Hz
To get higher voltage on the rear sensors, they would need to be set very near the teeth.
I did not measure, but guess 0,8mm in front, and 0,5mm rear.
Is about what I ended up with, the ABS worked correctly after this.
Despite being out of order since 2008.
