Over 200,000 people flock to Chatuchak Market every weekend. The Bangkok Marketplace is the World’s biggest Weekend Market.
Chatuchak Market has over 15,000 stalls spread across 35 acres, with 26 sections ranging from Food, Art, Antiques, Fashion and much more. There is something for everyone...
When to go:-
-------------------------
It's best to visit Chatuchak Market in the morning, as it gets extremely hot and crowded by mid-afternoon. Plan to spend most of the day there. Arriving early gives you a chance to explore more comfortably before the heavy crowds roll in around midday.
What to wear:-
-------------------------
Chatuchak Market is very big and requires a lot of walking in hot temperatures. It would be advised to wear comfortable walking shoes and light clothing that is suitable for the humid weather. Many Thais also frown upon tourists that do not cover themselves correctly. Men must not be topless and women must wear more than a bikini or swimwear.
When you get too hot , or hungry head over to the 'Mixt' section , which is a mall with aircon and provides well needed relief from the heat . There is an Excellent selection of food on offer at great prices. And many other stores with local made handy goods and crafts to scultures and some amazing furniture.
Getting There:-
-------------------------
Skytrain (BTS). The Skytrain runs throughout Bangkok and you are able to get on and off, but make sure to jump back off at (N8) Mo Chit Station (Sukhumvit Line). From here, if you take exit no. 1 when leaving the station, you will eventually come across rows and rows of canvas stalls. Keep following the crowds until you come across a small entrance this is the clothing section of Bangkok Market.
