What if what we call “beauty” were only a pale echo of the true Good?
What if what we admire as “good” were, in fact, a distorted shadow of something this world could never contain?
This ancient treatise from the Corpus Hermeticum, attributed to Hermes Trismegistus, is no ordinary text.
It is a veiled warning, a silent revelation, a key that only opens if you are ready to stop believing in what is visible.
Here we are told, without hesitation, that the Good cannot be found in what is created — not in the body, nor in emotions, nor even in what the world applauds as virtue.
Because everything that is born, suffers. And where there is suffering, pure Good cannot dwell.
📖 “The Good does not fit within a bodily frame, for on every side it is distressed by evil, by pains and sufferings, by desires and angers, by delusion and senseless opinion.”
— Corpus Hermeticum, Treatise VI
This video explores:
• Why absolute Good can only be found in God
• How earthly beauty is merely a reflection of the divine Good
• The sad truth that evil disguises itself here below as goodness
• The role of man as a tragic mixture of light and shadow
• The only path toward the authentic: piety joined with knowledge
🕯️ Short Parable:
A sage crossed a forest seeking the Good. Each time he found something beautiful, he took it… but soon it withered in his hands. Then he looked up and understood: “You cannot take what was never made to be possessed.”
🌌 Metaphor:
The Good is like the sun: its light makes the world visible, but if you look directly at it… it blinds you.
📿 Moral:
Not all that is beautiful is true. Not all that is good is eternal.
Only what is unborn never dies… and only that deserves to be called Good.
