In this video, I react to It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 9, episode 8, “Flowers for Charlie,” that parodies the amazing book Flowers for Algenon. A group of scientists recruits Charlie for a drug trial that supposedly enhances intelligence. After taking the pills, Charlie believes he has become a genius, speaking in a refined manner, reading classic literature, and writing a screenplay. The Gang is unimpressed, mocking his pretentiousness and pointing out flaws in his “brilliance.” Eventually, the scientists reveal the drug was only a placebo, which means on this video I break down the placebo effect, nocebo effect and what intelligence really is.
I hope you learn something! Please do let me know what you think!
