Join students from Upper Valley (of Vermont and New Hampshire) high schools as they talk about their orchid propagation research in association with New Hampshire Academy of Science.
This talk took place at the Howe Library in Hanover, NH, on Wednesday October 15, 2025. It was co-sponsored by the Howe Library and the Hanover Conservancy, and was introduced by Adair Mulligan, Executive Director of the Hanover Conservancy, and Peter Feletra, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Academy of Science.
Students who have published their research internationally present their genetic and horticultural slipper orchid conservation research as well as their outreach to the regional community through creating slipper sanctuaries on public and private land.
Student presenters include Ella Zhang, Emelia Ajavo, Ethan Krom, Ian Sun, Kevin Sun, Martina Vale Dwyer, Maya Turbeville, Nysa Sharma, Kastner Anderson, Nicholas Palifka, Aila Butler, Alana Defoor, Audrey Boland, Elena Simon, Essi Donigian, Liam White, Lizzie Anderson, Sofia Thurston, and Grace Lan.
