Therrien Sr. was awarded the rank of Rokudan (6th degree black belt) in Kenpo Karate and the title of Professor in 2002 from the Kokon Ryu Bujutsu Renmei, a 1st degree black belt in Samurai Jiu Jitsu from the late Pete Siringano in 1993, a Lakan Lima (5th degree black belt) and the title of Master of Modern Arnis in 1998 from the late Grandmaster Remy Presas and a Certified Instructor of Jeet Kune Do Concepts and Kali from Paul Vunak in 1993.
