Customer brought in a 4 meter long Screw for a Plastic Extruder Machine. They needed to extend the screw 10" to fit their application. We bored and threaded the end of the screw and used a piece of 4340 HT material to make the mating extension. Main concern was getting the screw flights to line up so we used a Sharpie Marker to trace the toolpath. The extension was welded together with the screw for a "permanent" fix. Machined in our Mori Seiki NTX2000.
