Gouache paint sticks for Urban sketching

I saw two illustrators (it was actually Sarah van Dongen who had them in her materials video on Domestika, not Koosje Koone who uses a different and possibly tempera version) using these sticks or ones like them and I thought they might solve an urban sketching issue of covering larger areas and not having to wait so long for paint to dry. If you've watched my other videos you know this has been an issue especially when not on my own... Luckily these arrived the night before our Toronto Urban Sketchers meetup last Saturday (and luckily I was well enough and it was outdoors so I wouldn't get anyone else sick). We were at the Distillery District so I knew I had to bring the brick colour along and some green. I only carried what I needed, not the whole set. I really want to treat these as an opaque layer so I'm not as bothered that they aren't as good as say Neocolor II's for washing out.

Now I'm in no doubt that these are not the "Artist's Grade" as suggested by the box so these are for sketchbooks only and not commission work.
