Cultivating Nonprofit Capacity (CNC) Athens Program

ACCGov’s Housing & Community Development (HCD) Department created the Cultivating Nonprofit Capacity in Athens (CNC Athens) program to support local Non Profit Organizations (NPOs) that experienced negative economic impacts due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Funded by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) COVID-19 State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, the program aimed to equip NPOs with concrete skills to enhance their services and fulfill their missions, preparing them to be more competitive for future funding opportunities.

The program components included ongoing assessments, six learning modules on best practices in nonprofit management, personalized technical assistance from the Community Impact Team at HCD, networking opportunities, a capstone project, and a $40,000 operational grant for each selected participant - About Face International Corporation, Destined, Inc., Encourage Her Academy, Inc., Farm to Neighborhood Foundation, Inc., and Juvenile Offender Advocate, Inc.
