Welcome to Day 6 of our Autus Family 2024 Route 66 journey! Today we’re crossing three states—starting in Springfield, Missouri, dipping briefly into Kansas, and finally settling down in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This stretch is absolutely packed with exciting stops and classic Route 66 landmarks.
We kick things off at Buc-ee’s, our all-time favorite travel center. Then we dive deep into the underground world of Fantastic Caverns—a Jeep-pulled cave tour you won’t soon forget. On the road, we explore quirky photo ops like the World’s Largest Fork, stop by Gary’s Gay Parita for a dose of vintage Sinclair vibes, and stumble upon the charming art installation known as Red Oak II. A quick detour takes us to Grand Falls, where our drone has a close call, and we pass through a tiny slice of Kansas to check out Cars on the Route and the historic Rainbow Bridge.
Finally, we cross into Oklahoma, visiting the Hi-Way Café, Ed Galloway’s Totem Pole Park, and the iconic Blue Whale of Catoosa before capping off the day at Tulsa’s Mother Road Market for some local bites, brews, and mini golf.
If you love roadside attractions, local eats, and the nostalgia of the Mother Road, this is the episode for you! Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and let us know in the comments which of today’s stops you’d most like to visit.
Check out our entire adventure so far!
