Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County - "Good Character & Citizenship"

2021 Telly Award Winner ! This is one of four videos produced for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County by Media Arts students from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

Since 1965, it has been the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. Their goal is to provide world-class Club experiences that assure success is within reach of every child who walks through our doors.

These videos highlight four areas on concentration at the 12 local clubs - Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Teens and Good Citizenship. BGCBC staff and club members collaborated with the Art Institute students under the supervision of Professor Kyle Farley. Several departments worked together on the 11 week production including Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Filmmaking and Video Production. The students planned the schedules, wrote original scripts, filmed 12 staff and member interviews, did 4K location shooting across the county and edited hours of footage adding effects and titles. Facilities are donated by the Art Institute and students earn class credit while applying their production creativity to assist the media needs of local charities.
