Uzbekistan — The Shah-i-Zinda Mausoleum Complex in Samarkand
This is the most sacred place in Samarkand. Muslim believers come here on pilgrimage because it is the burial site of the most revered figure of Islam in Central Asia—the cousin of the Prophet Muhammad. In addition, many members of royal and noble families are also buried here.
