Mario Party & Board Game Design

We get it -- we’ve all been through the gauntlet with the Mario Party games. But here’s the thing: they totally nail the feeling of playing a board game. Let’s take a look at some key board game design concepts and see how they stack up against Mario Party’s boards and minigames.

We’ll be doing this through the lens of Mario Party Superstars on the Nintendo Switch. The latest game in the series combines boards and minigames from all the previous entries, making it more of a compilation than a totally new party game. That also makes it a great one to examine for our video.
