Willie Gault was a wide receiver who played for the Chicago Bears from 1983 to 1987.
Known as an elite kick returner out of the University of Tennessee, the Bears chose the All-American with the 18th overall pick in the first round of the 1983 NFL draft.
Gault made an immediate impact as a deep-threat netting 836 yards on only 40 catches with 8 touchdowns which earned him a spot on the All-Rookie team.
Gault was also an Olympic athlete qualifying for the 1980 U.S. Olympic team that did not participate due to a boycott.
Gault would go on to lead the Bears in receiving yards every year he was with with the Bears.
During the 1988 training camp, Gault was in the midst of a contract holdout. The Bears traded him to the Raiders for a 1989 first round pick used on Donnell Woolford and a 1990 third round pick used on quarterback Peter Tom Willis.
He ranks 83rd on the List of the Top 100 Chicago Bears of all-time.
