Via Francigena 27 (Pont-Saint-Martin -- Ivrea)

We crossed over a 1st Century BC Roman bridge (also where they filmed the Avengers). The Devil is said to have made an offer to St Martin to construct a bridge in a single night in exchange for the first soul to pass over it. The Saint accepted but, the morning after, by throwing a piece of bread to the other side of the bridge, he ensured the first to cross the bridge was a hungry dog. The Devil
furious, vanished in the Lys and the bridge was left for the people. We passed by lots of goats who followed us as we walked. It was a beautiful walk. Nick even caught a cute little snake. I held him until he tried to bite me. Could have been bad...but it wasn't so moving along. When we finally arrived in Ivrea we saw the cathedral & crypt. Then we got ice cream before finding nicks family. We hung out with them in the hotel room before we were picked up by Alessandra to stay the night at her house. She has a cute dog who loves to lick. Her house was beautiful and the shower was lovely. She gave us robes and creams that made me remember what luxury was haha. We ate a delicious dinner with dessert & got eaten by mosquitoes in the garden. Then we watched Jumanji until Nick fell asleep.
