Hummel CA2, Hummel Aviation’s all metal single seat, low wing, ultralight aircraft.

The Hummel CA2 is a plans built, all metal, low wing part 103 legal ultralight aircraft. It was originally designed by Frank Griffith in 1992. The aircraft took between 400 and 600 hours to build. It featured all metal aluminum 2024 T-3 construction. The craft could be built with normal hand tools but was made easier with the acquisition of a small bending break and to Bender.

The control system features standard 3 axis control, with a center mounted stick left hand throttle, ailerons and flaps. Power could be supplied by the Rotax 277, Rotax 377, Hirth F33 and half VW engines.

Plans for the CA2 are no longer available from Hummel but my information is that a company called Adams Aeronautics in Dallas Georgia offers sales and support for the aircraft.
