The bunker wasn’t sealed. It wasn’t abandoned. And it wasn’t safe. Inside were people who had survived the first days by locking themselves underground, and infected that hadn’t been fully cleared out yet. Power was unstable, air was limited, and every noise traveled farther than it should. If I wanted food, water, and a place to sleep, I had to help them finish securing the bunker before someone else found the open door. Down there, mistakes don’t get forgiven, and memory lapses can get people killed.
