This is part of my recreation and expansion of the original Game Boy Advance OST for DKC3 by David Wise. Inspired by Jammin' Sam Miller and his soundtrack restorations of the original SNES trilogy, I'm aiming to do a similar treatment for this version of the game, but with modern virtual instruments. I mean to expand upon the song arrangements so they build a bit more and don't just loop or fade out.
The cavern levels in DKC3 are among the longest to get through, so I wanted to reflect that in the duration of this piece. I really loved Wise's sparse arrangement and minimalist composition, but generally preferred Novakovic's piece for the OST. I set out to merge the two, but I ended up just embracing the Wise side of it, and instead brought in a little of DKC1's cave theme to layered effect.
If you're keeping count, this is the last basic level theme in the game. The whole soundtrack project is very, very close to completion now. Expect the rest of the tunes coming in fairly sporadically in the following weeks, but much faster =]
