Still up north was again with a luscious lively loud Liverpudlian Leyland, with an Alexander-bodied Atlantean from the 80s in the form of preserved Merseyside 1021.
New in 1984. A101HLV was new to Merseyside PTE as 1021, forming an order of 54 Atlanteans in the A-HLV batch that year, it appears to have been based at Green Lane depot, predominantly running services around into and out of Liverpool city centre. Passing to Merseybus upon privitisation, even passing under Arriva ownership when still in service by the year 2000.
1021 was one of many in attendance at the NWVRT's Nocturnal Running Day back in November, and is seen providing a run from Kirkby Industrial Estate to Headbolt Lane Station and back, under route number 96.
1021 is powered by a Leyland O.680 engine coupled to a 5-speed SCG semi-automatic gearbox.
