Hello Everyone!
Today in this video, I am going to discuss about the National Policy of Education, 1986. Since the country's Independence in 1947, the Indian government sponsored a variety of programmes to address the problems of illiteracy in both rural and urban India. Based on the report and recommendations of the Kothari Commission (1964–1966), the government of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi announced the first National Policy on Education in 1968. In 1986, the government led by Rajiv Gandhi introduced a new National Policy on Education. The new policy called for "special emphasis on the removal of disparities and to equalise educational opportunity," especially for Indian women, Scheduled Tribes (ST) and the Sceduled Caste (SC) communities. So in this session, will learn about this policy In detail.
