Lateral Torsional Buckling Test

"Within the national research project ALLVER “Allgemeines Verfahren zum Nachweis gegen Stabilitätsversagen aus der Haupttragebene“, the general method for the verification of flexural and lateral torsional buckling of beams has been investigated. An important part was a new test series on lateral torsional buckling of beams with variable moment shapes. Clear boundary conditions and a load direction that remains vertical throughout the whole course of a bending test with lateral torsional buckling required an innovative test setup with particular support units and control of the lateral shift of the hydraulic jack. This short movie shows one example of the mentioned test series."
