Cozumel, Mexico | Exploring the Island on Our Own – Local Food, Markets & Mototaxis!

Our last port day of the cruise brought us to the beautiful island of Cozumel, Mexico, and instead of a booked excursion, we decided to explore on our own!
We started with brunch at Casa Denis—a local spot recommended by our taxi driver that totally hit the spot. From there, we made our way to the Municipal Market (Mercado Municipal) to get a taste of daily life in Cozumel. After wandering around the market, we stopped to cool off at Olas de Café, a cozy café and chocolate bar where I grabbed an iced vanilla coffee (because yes—it was hot even in January!).
To give our feet a break, we hopped into a mototaxi (a first for us!) and cruised around a bit more before heading back to the port. While our taco tour didn’t go as planned, we loved the laid-back vibes and local flavors of Cozumel.
We’d definitely love to come back and explore more one day!
