From Sloths to Snorkeling… and Almost Missing the Ship! 🚢😅 | Roatán, Honduras

Day 5 of our cruise brought us to beautiful Roatán Island, Honduras!🌴

We booked a 3rd-party shore excursion through Shore Excursions Group (link below) called **Sloths, Monkeys, Zip Line, and Snorkel Combo—and what a wild ride it was!

There was a little confusion finding our group outside the port, but we made it just fine and even arrived early. After a bit of waiting at the sloth and monkey sanctuary, it was finally our turn for the animal encounter. As of March 2025, physical contact with sloths is no longer allowed due to new Honduran wildlife guidelines, but guests can still enjoy up-close viewing and learn more through guided talks and observation.

Next up was ziplining—a totally different vibe from our previous experience in Puerto Vallarta, and just as fun! After that, we hit the beach and jumped on a boat for some snorkeling. The water was amazing and way better than our snorkeling attempt in Isla Mujeres. Sadly, our GoPro wasn’t cooperating, so we left it behind and just soaked in the moment.

We grabbed lunch at the beachfront restaurant before rushing back to port—and we barely made it in time. We had less than 5 minutes before all-aboard and had to shortcut through the port shops to the ship. 😅 Definitely didn’t want to be pier runners on our first cruise, but we made it!
