🆕 Major Enhancements in ProtaStructure 2026

1. Smarter Modeling Tools;

RC Staircase Module: Design and detail reinforced concrete stairs interactively—automatic meshing, analysis, rebar layouts, and drawings are fully integrated.

New structural elements added, including cruciform columns, foundation pedestals, and subbasement walls plus support for multi-level slabs on a single storey.

Base plate modeling: Code-based steel base plates per ACI, AISC, Eurocode—all handled within ProtaStructure.

2. Advanced Seismic & Analysis Capabilities

Define multiple user-defined spectra in X, Y, Z directions.

Full support for Eurocode 8‑Part 3 and ASCE/SEI 41 performance-based seismic analysis and retrofit assessments.

Editable eccentricities, safety factors, and modal vertical earthquake analysis per Eurocode.

Improved meshing (quad‐shell elements, selective cracking treatment) and auto-assigned body constraints rather than rigid links.

3. Expanded Code Support & Localization

Eurocode NDP Editor: Customize Nationally Determined Parameters—searchable and templatable across EC2, EC3, EC4, EC8.

New support added for:
Brazilian NBR codes (NBR‑8681 load code, NBR‑8800 steel design), Colombian NSR‑10, Peruvian NTE, Indian IS standards.

4. RC Design & Detailing Enhancements

Automated crack width checks, punching shear checks using FEM (with limitations for Eurocode/BS), and deflection calculations including creep/shrinkage.

Slab rebar patterns, stress visualizations (utilization coloring), vertical building section generation, and rebar schedules for rib beams and slabs.

5. Productivity & Visualization Features

Custom shortcut/command editor to tailor your workflow.
Color-coded loads, DXF overlays in load editors, graphical reaction contours, and transparent image export for polished documentation.

6. ProtaSteel & Steel Design Improvements

New macros for curved beams, trusses, splice joints, fin plates.
Improved IntelliConnect, IFC4 support, and seamless export of internal forces to IDEA StatiCa.

7. Foundation Design Innovations

Support for tie beams per TS500 and ACI318, RC pedestals under steel columns, and enhanced tools for pad footing and pile cap design.

8. BIM & Interoperability

Full IFC4 export, support for Singapore BCA CoreNETX submission, updated Revit family mapping, and SAF file export.
