Masala Chai with Rose & Tulsi | Indian Spiced Chai Recipe

This is a straightforward, everyday Indian chai made the way it’s actually brewed at home. A mix of warming spices, tulsi, and a touch of rose for depth.
Milk & Water:
I used one large cup about 350 ml water and a little less than the same cup of full fat milk- 230 ml.
Spices & tea:
• 3 cardamom pods
• 1 small piece ginger
• 1 clove
• 1 tiny piece cinnamon
• A pinch of dried tulsi leaves (or a few fresh leaves if you have them)
• A pinch of dried rose petals
• 1.5 tbsp chai patti (tea leaves)
• 2 tsp jaggery (sweeten to taste)
Method:
~Pound all your spices in a pestle & mortar.
~Bring the water to a rolling boil.
~Add all the spices + tea leaves, let it brew for a few minutes.
~Stir in the jaggery.
~Pour in the milk and let it come to a few good boils until you get that perfect chai colour.
~Strain & serve hot.
