This video shows my 5 favorite exercises for training lock-off strength.
Lock-off strength is really important because it allows climbing with control when needed, improves repeatability on precision moves, and even helps with clipping and resting on lead when the preferred straight-arm stances aren’t available.
I typically train lock-offs 1-2 times per week with some combination of these exercises. I usually mix up the exercises every two weeks or so. Disclaimer: I am in no way certified in training, these are just my exercises and what I consider to appropriate.
