When God commanded Abraham to offer his beloved son Isaac as a burnt offering,
Abraham clung to God’s promise—even when the command was beyond human understanding.

On the road up Mount Moriah,
Abraham carried the fire and the knife,
and Isaac carried the wood for the sacrifice as they walked together.

“Father, the fire and the wood are here,” Isaac said,
“but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”

Abraham replied,
“God Himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering.”

This was not merely a comforting answer,
but a profound confession of faith—
trusting that God would fulfill His promise to make Abraham’s descendants as numerous as the stars through Isaac.

At the very moment Abraham raised the knife,
God stopped him
and provided a ram caught in the thicket.
