Saving lives and preventing injuries in the workplace is founded on a systematic incident prevention process of recognizing, understanding and controlling hazards. We are commonly drawn towards physical hazards where uncontrolled energy releases cause injury and destruction. There are impairing factors that can disrupt a workers’ physical and cognitive abilities creating a, “ready-to-work,” hazard. Linking impairing factors recognition and control with the traditional incident prevention makes good life saving sense.
This webinar will:
Review terms associated with incident prevention.
Bridge the gap from physical hazards to “ready to work hazards.”
Define workplace impairment; it’s not just drugs and alcohol.
Briefly discuss cannabis and its use.
Explain reasonable suspicion and the process to address it.
