❄️ CRAZY CONDITIONS at Townmoor Parkrun! Join me for a snowy, windy 5K at one of the UK’s most iconic parkrun locations – Town Moor, Newcastle upon Tyne. This was Event #690, the first parkrun of 2026, and it didn’t disappoint! From blizzards during the warm-up to icy paths on the course, this run was all about staying safe and enjoying the challenge.

🏃 Course Details:

Location: Town Moor, Newcastle upon Tyne
Distance: 5K (fast, flat course on gravel & tarmac)
Typical Attendance: 400–600 runners
Course Record: ~15 minutes
Average Finish Time: 26–28 minutes
Today’s event saw 539 runners and walkers, braving the cold and snow with the amazing support of volunteers. Town Moor is steeped in history – from horse racing to wartime airfields – and even today, you might spot cows roaming the course!
