I took a three mile stroll from the village of Fortingall in Perthshire, Scotland, to Chesthill House in Glen Lyon. Here's Part 1 of that stroll which includes standing stones, an ideal village of thatched cottages designed by arts and crafts pioneer James Marjoribanks MacLaren (who would inspire Charles Rennie MacIntosh), stone circles, an unfortunate hare, Highland cows and the (allegedly) oldest living thing on the planet - the 5000 year old Fortingall Yew tree.
