In this video I share my experience from the side effects of coming off Escitalopram (aka Lexapro or Cipralexa), what to expect and how to deal with the withdrawal symptoms of discontinuation throughout the procedure.
I was on 10mg for 2.5 years.
When I went to the doctor, the initial tapering plan that she gave me was:
Week 1: alternating between 10 mg one day, 5 another day
Week 2: alternating between 5 mg one day, 0 the other day
Week 3: alternating between one day on 5 mg, 2 days on 0 mg
Week 4: alternating between one day on 5 mg, 3 days on 0 mg
This was too short, so the plan that I ended up creating for myself was:
Weeks 1 to 3: alternating between 10 mg one day, 5 another day
Weeks 4 to 5: alternating between 10 mg one day, 0 the other day
Weeks 6 to 9: alternating between 5 mg one day, 0 the other day
Weeks 10 to 13: alternating between one day on 5 mg, 2 days on 0 mg
Weeks 13 to 16: alternating between one day on 5 mg, 3 days on 0 mg
