Chocolate Cake Recipe | With Ganache & Chocolate Whipped Cream
In this video, I show how to make a soft, moist chocolate cake using simple ingredients.
The cake is layered with silky milk-chocolate ganache and finished with light chocolate whipped cream, making it rich yet perfectly balanced.
Dry Ingredients
• All-purpose flour – 1 cup (150 g)
• Cocoa powder – ¼ cup (20 g)
• Baking powder – 1 tsp
• Baking soda – ¼ tsp
• Salt – a pinch
Wet Ingredients
• Oil – ⅓ cup
• Curd / Yogurt – ½ cup (120 g)
• Sugar – ½ cup + 2 tbsp (120 g)
• Milk – ½ cup (100 ml)
• Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
Baking Details
• Pan size: 8-inch round pan
• Oven temperature: 350°F / 180°C
• Bake time: 35–40 minutes
(Bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.)
Chocolate Whipped Cream
• Heavy whipping cream – 2 cups
• Cocoa powder – ¼ cup (heaping)
• Powdered sugar – ⅓ cup
• Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
Whip everything together until light, fluffy, and smooth.
Chocolate Ganache
• Milk chocolate chips – 1 cup
• Heavy cream – ½ cup
Microwave the chocolate and cream in short intervals, mixing well until smooth and glossy.
Method (Brief)
1. Mix dry and wet ingredients separately.
2. Combine gently until smooth and pour into the prepared pan.
3. Bake and allow the cake to cool completely.
4. Level and divide the cake.
5. Brush with sugar syrup, then layer with chocolate whipped cream and ganache.
6. Crumb-coat the sides, chill, and finish icing.
7. Decorate with ganache borders, whipped-cream details, and white chocolate garnish.
