BARABARA is the Swahili word for “road.”
Team AMANI was founded with the goal of showing what’s possible when athletes from the region are given meaningful opportunities.
But back then, with limited resources, racing on the road wasn’t a viable option. With the lower barrier to entry and growing professionalism, gravel was the place to start.
We got our foot in the door, but now it’s time for a new dream. What would we want to do if we could?
This is the story of Team AMANI’s first season in the world of road racing, and the very first steps towards trying to reach the top of the sport.
