"As tāne, we're meant to be strong for our whānau, the pou of our whānau. And showing weakness is maybe showing them that not everything is okay. And you don't want them to see that."
Toi, Pab and the Riff Raff run club boys attend a wānanga with men’s mental health movement Soften Up Bro and sewing legend Creative Taro, exploring how tāne can overcome barriers to vulnerability and build healthier relationships with themselves and others.
ALLGOODS is a new six-part docu series made by Paki Productions with the support of NZ On Air.
When Toi realises his wellbeing is out of balance, he ropes in his mate Pab to come along for the ride. What starts as a personal check-in quickly becomes a kaupapa; a raw, honest, and often confronting exploration of what it really means to be well as young Māori and Pasifika in Aotearoa today.
"When someone asks me how I am, I want to be able to mean it when I say I'm allgoods."
Watch the ALLGOODS series now on TVNZ+ and YouTube.
