Kendrapada has once again become the centre of political debate in Odisha following the expulsion of Patkura MLA Arvind Mohapatra from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD). From Bijay Mahapatra in 2000 to Nalini Mohanty in 2001, Baijayant Panda in 2018, and now Arvind Mohapatra, several prominent Kendrapada leaders have faced removal under similar allegations of “betrayal”.
