I turn 50 at the end of the month and I wanted to get one more backpacking trip in while I'm still in my 40's. I traveled over to Missouri to do a 17 mile, two night loop in the Paddy Creek Wilderness. Along the hike, I ruminate on bluetooth speakers, drinking yellow water, and the idea of turning 50. In the end, I decide that while turning 50 does indeed blow, I'm going to focus on what I'm grateful for. 50 won't get the best of me.
